A super free kick by Ryan Taylor gave Wigan the lead in the 1st half. Sebastien Bassong clung on and on to Emile Heskey and though the most serious tugging appeared to have been just outside the penalty, the entire run-up to the moment was enough to have the ref award a penalty and send Bassong packing. There was more drama with a penalty at the other end and a late opportunity for Damien Duff to equalise.
