A fantastic game. Peter Crouch had a couple of headers in the 1st half – in both defensive and attacking modes. He then got a third header in the 2nd half to put Portsmouth a goal up which was doubled through a beautiful Defoe goal. Derbyshire who came on in the 61st minute immediately impacted the game with a cool header. Tugay’s super strike was followed by two disallowed goals for the Rovers, both involving Derbyshire. Sean Davis finally retrieved the game for Portsmouth in the chaos that followed a Robinson block of a potentially sensational goal by Papa Bouba Diop.
