Germany vs Turkey Euro 2008 Cup Soccer Semi-Final Video
Watch Euro Semi Finals Highlights – Turkey 2-3 Germany – from the 2008 Euro. Turkey stunned everyone in the 1st Half completely dominating it with their attacking play. Kazim Kazim was unlucky to hit the post but Boral soon got the Turks ahead, off another Kazim post-rebound. The Schweinsteiger/Podolski combo (who else) got the Germans level and they returned to the 2nd half with a little better intent. With coverage being lost due to a lightning strike-induced power failure, this video just about has the Miroslav Klose goal in the 79th minute. Turkey who’ve had the most sensational Euro tournament almost did it again when Semih Senturk got the equalizer in the 86th minute. A super goal by Philip Lahm in the 90th minute seemed to dip into the Turks’ share of last-minute luck and it was all over. There was earlier a controversially denied penalty for the Germans and some blood on the pitch – all this in the video. Both the goalkeepers – Lehmann and Rustu – had poor outings, and Germany who put Portugal out didn’t justify that except during the Lahm finish.
Prematch: Turkey with some of their key players having gotten on the wrong side of the law look weaker against an almost corporate German team. Missing Turkish players include Volkan Demirel, Tuncay Sanli, Arda Turan, Emre Asik and Nihat Kahveci (due to injury).
