Netherlands vs Russia Euro 2008 Cup Soccer Quarter-finals Video

1st & 2nd Half Highlights

Extra Time Highlights

Watch Russia 3-1 Holland soccer goals and highlights from the 2008 Euro Cup. Goals Scored: Russia: Pavluchenko, Torbinsky, Arshavin – Netherlands: Van Nistelrooy.
At some point in extra time I began to fear a repeat of yesterday with wave after wave of Russian attack just falling short, but it all worked out great in the end. In short, a complete domination of the Dutch (except Van Der Sar and perhaps Sneijder) by the Russians. Andrei Arshavin was once again brilliant while Pavluchenko made up for a few misses with a good goal and a super strike that got the top corner. The striking force of the Dutch that has been on display through this Euro was snuffed out repeatedly with the back of the Russian defence doing what it’s supposed to do – stay back and thwart the Dutch counter-attacking football they’ve used so effectively in the last few games. The only time the Russians looked uneasy was when Sneijder was blasting them around. Super win. Now if only Spain could win tomorrow, this Euro will fall right into place for me.
PreMatch Thoughts: Russia in the last match with Andrei Arshavin back, strutted around enough to indicate that it’s not going to be easy for the Dutch. In fact, a shock might be on the cards.
