A controversial late penalty, a purportedly offside goal – but in the middle of all that was high action with Austria launching wave after wave of attack in the first half all of which was smothered by one man – Artur f***in Boruc. Brilliant saves in one-on-one situations foiled Austria’s Martin Harnik in particular. It was the Polish however who seized what was seriously their first real opportunity – the apparently offside goal by Brazilian-origin Guerreiro Roger whose skills were on show in the last game when he came on as a sub. A couple of moves are included in the video here. Though the penalty came well into stoppage time (slotted in by Ivica Vastic), Ivanschitz had a shot at a penalty for Austria at the start of the 2nd half. There was a penalty-worthy tug but his dive came a little too late. In the end, a result that keeps the group alive and kicking.
