Arsenal had a couple of good chances through Van Persie and Diaby before an unmarked Adebayor headed one in. Middlesbrough responded well within the first half after Tuncay Sanli’s (who else?) fired-in cross found Aliadiere. The game’s turning point however was a penalty denied for Middlesbrough after Clichy brought down Johnson. There were a couple of chances more for Arsenal with Bendtner coming on, and he did what he often does – miss them. But on this occasion he probably doesn’t deserve to be singled out – a good result for Middlesbrough who played a deserving game.
